What have my fellow cu/ck/s come up with tonight?
Dad and I made a cauliflower steak with mash tates. Kind of last minute but tasted great, vegetarian too.

Just made spaghetti for the first time

Added salt during boling. It came out good. Had tomato with garlic sauce on me and eating it now.

Why does it taste so bland? Is this all?

Spaghetti is all about the sauce. Furthermore spaghetti on its own with nothing to compliment it is very one dimensional. Chicken parmesan is probably the best spaghetti dish.

Sorry, delete the post.

Yeah man, i bought some good sauce and eating it with the Spaghetti.

All i taste is the bland garlic, tomatoes and pasta. This is so stale

The other mistake is using too much sauce. It frowns out the pasta. Look at any high quality restaurant and you’ll see how light they actually go on the tomato sauce.

>> No.11960293

i disagree
a good sauce can stand alone with just pasta, no protein, maybe some cheese on top

I drain my pasta and add a good helping of olive oil while it’s in the strainer and use tongs to toss the pasta. Then I add a few tablespoons of sauce, chopped basil leaves, salt and pepper then toss the pasta again until everything is well distributed. From there put it on the plate and add a few more spoonfuls of sauce on top of the pasta then grate fresh parmesan cheese on top.

>> No.11960335

Yeah all i did was

>heat up crock pot
>add salt
>add Spaghetti
>drain
>put on plate
>get sauce
>mix
>eat
Tastes very eh

That’s like cooking a steak without seasoning and complaining that there isn’t much flavor. You have to do it right.

Okay. After i drain the pasta, i add salt, pepper and olive oil, toss and stuff?

Then add sauce, then cheese?

In this order
1. Drain pasta
2. Add olive oil
3. Toss
4. Add salt, pepper and chopped basil leaves
5. Toss
6. Add a few spoonfuls of sauce
7. Toss
8. Plate the pasta
9. Add more sauce on top of the pasta
10. Grate fresh parmesan cheese on top of the sauce
11. Enjoy

It will look something like this.

are you using premade sauce? if so you should make your own, its easy
olive oil, tomatos/passata, red wine, onions, garlic, salt+pepper, basil, oregano, red wine vinegar
some kind of meat mince if you want

It's called a swollen starch and comes from grossly overboiling your potatoes. The starches within them absorbed so much water that they turned into slimy, glutinous goop when you broke them down with the immersion blender. You're not fooling anyone by pretending the texture is anything less than fucking school glue, we all know what swollen starches feel like.
You done fucked up son.

no pic (might take one tomorrow though)

>cherry tomatoes and scallions chopped together in a food processor
>add bunch of spicy/hot seasonings (incl cajun and hot chili powder) and some valentina hot sauce (fighting off a cold atm so always pile on the heat)
>add some extra less finely-chopped cherry tomatoes
>nuke for ~5 mins
>have it with a bit of grilled turkey

delicious 2bh. tomato sauce almost had the texture of a mince chili and could probably have had it on its own
