There's a 300 pound 5'0" chocolate-brown manlet who works a grill made out of an oil drum right outside my uni campus, on the fucking sidewalk. His tall twitchy skeleton of a partner handles the cash. The line is never shorter than 10 people, on a bad day. God knows where the fuck he gets his shit but he makes the best fucking choripan I've ever had. He also makes steak sandwiches. A choripan certainly is fast food and very popular here, sausages are always hot and on standby around lunch and dinner hours so you get your sandwich in no time. The diffence is that a choripan would usually be consumed by people during a lunch break (these rickety streetside operations are vehemently popular with taxi drivers), after a night at the club at 6AM, at a soccer game, etc. Pizza and empanadas are very popular but it's different; they tend to be delivery or takeaway for entire families or large groups, most of the time.

Turkish / greek places have very nice veal or lamb gyros, but those are a bit of an exception.
