Angus cattle generally marble easier compared to other cattle breeds and are thus used in beef production. Meanwhile the Jersey, and holstein are more common in milk production because they marble like shit. I prefer Texas Longhorn beef myself but unless you live somewhere near a Longhorn ranch you won't find it.

Farmer here. Angus beef is no different than any other kind of beef. The only difference is that Angus is marketed as being better by Angus farmers because it makes them more money that way. Beef is beef, don't buy Angus just because some jackass told you it was better on the packaging.

Ground beef is ground beef, no need to pay that much for it.

What do you raise? Because I raised a mixture over my years and Angus down right marbles better than most other cattle I've raised, the only ones that beat it are Longhorn and beefalo. Wagyu marbles much better but I'm not importing cattle from Japan or Australia. Holstein, Jersey and limousine certainly don't marble anywhere near as well.

Now that being said yeah, you're getting ripped off by the marketing jew buying "Angus" ground beef.

Although this is half true. Basically they ask the USDA beef inspector to do further inspection on Certified Angus Beef by their own set of standards. But your package isn't CAB so it doesn't matter.
