I noticed it after peeing within 30 minutes of eating asparagus so it happens even before it's fully digested. Not everyone can smell it either. I don't think it means it's bad for you or anything though. A theory is that not everyone can smell it because smelling it might make you less likely to eat it, even though it's healthy, but no definitive answer.
