Drinking through some old Almanacs.

Probably better to drink them fresh but they're still holding up considerably well.

Holy shit stop giving bad advice. That's not a general rule. Sure, some do age well, but that's not true for all and it certainly depends on the style of beer as there are plenty of different types of sours.

Totally agree. It was innovative when first released but no longer compares favorably to newer beers. However, it's important to try it at least once to understand where the current trends began. Like Pliny for West Coast style IPA. Good to experience for perspective.

I think the moment It becomes a clone recipe kit that's easier to find than the actual beer, it's run its course. They're good beers, but at this point they're more of a history lesson than some kind of high water mark.

All they do for me is remind me beer is, in general, only good fresh.

I want to like Lagunitas but their bottles are dated so poorly that I can't tell if they're fresh or not.
About to drink this, not had it in several years and found it fresh in a 19 ounce can.
Has anyone tried the new Guinness aged in bourbon barrels?

do you live in cali or in a bordering state? its still no garuntee for freshness but i've noticed a difference in lagunitas since i moved to the west coast. the chances of getting a skunked IPA were over 50% when i was in NY.

i also had the willetized stout on draft a week after it was released this year so i got lucky in terms of freshness.

It's funny talking about poverty in a thread where the median income for homebrewers is 60k and most tend to have graduate degrees. Not to throw stones, but fuck it I'm here, I noticed that people who drink swill get absolutely shitter shattered when you tell them they can make their own shit that tastes better for less money. Absolutely indignant at the idea that good and/or strong beer is not some richfag bullshit, but low hanging fruit anyone who can wash their hands and watch a pot boil can do.

The earthy hop note topper brings to the table is pretty unique. I swim in fresh NEIPA either through trades or travel via work holdings in Maine and Vermont, and live 10 minutes from a Michigan Brewery that murders the style. While I agree that it is a meme, it is still pretty unique in execution.
