Try being a Mr. Pibb fan. Coca-Cola company replaced it with the intentionally awful tasting Pibb Xtra after the deal to start distributing for Dr Pepper to keep actual Mr. Pibb from cutting in on their Dr Pepper distribution bux. I'll probably never get to drink a Mr. Pibb again unless I buy some ancient unopened can from the 90s off ebay.

Similar happened to Hires root beer. Dr Pepper owns both Hires and A&W, and has been phasing the former out as a result. Now, I love A&W on draft at the restaurant, but the bottled stuff is a completely different thing (at this point, they're not even made by the same company, let alone according to the same recipe) and just doesn't hold a candle to Hires.
