>Back in 1945 the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council stated that adults should take in about 2.5 liters of water per day (which is roughly the equivalent of eight glasses of water), but it also noted most of that intake level was already satisfied through the consumption of food without the need for the additional drinking of water. And as other nutritionists of the time noted, any shortfall in water intake could be made up through the consumption of beverages such as coffee, tea, milk, or soft drinks; one need not specifically drink water only in the form of water.
>One doctor who has made this his research focus, Dr. Heinz Valtin, searched through many electronic databases and also consulted with nutritionists and colleagues who specialize in water balance in the body. In all of his research, and in all of the research we conducted to double-check his work, no scientific evidence could be found to suggest that you need to drink eight glasses of water a day. In fact, scientific studies suggest that you already get enough liquid from what you’re drinking and eating on a daily basis. We are not all walking around in a state of dehydration.

Actual diabetic here. Ignore the memers. You need carbs in your diet, there is none of this cut carbs completely. they're your vital energy source. Just eat less food to compensate. Shrink your portions, and drink more fluids.

Do you abuse carbs? Fuck no, theres no problem with having a little bread or pasta every now and then. I average about 75-180 on a daily basis when it comes to bloodsugar levels, anbd thats without lantus or oral medicines. Its easy as fuck to take care of your body when you understand how much a balanced meal actually does for you. Cut just one block out of that equation, and you defeat the entire purpose of healthy eating.

>Over the last few weeks, those who visited the British Medical Journal's website might have noticed an advert for a new public health initiative, Hydration for Health. It is sponsored by Danone – which owns the Evian, Volvic and Badoit bottled water brands – and urges healthcare professionals to encourage people to drink more water, claiming that "evidence is increasing that even mild dehydration plays a role in the development of various diseases".
>Margaret McCartney, a GP and columnist, saw these adverts and complained about it, writing an article for the BMJ (who admitted "we hadn't followed our own guidelines. The advertisement bypassed our editorial checks") about the lack of evidence – and citing the shortcomings of many studies – that people should be drinking more water.

Weak-willed people need a bogeyman they can blame their problems on so they don't have to take personal responsibility. fast digesting carbs help you lose weight because they raise blood sugar quickly, which causes saity so that ya don't over eat.

eating fat doesn't raise blood sugar, so it does not make a person feel full or sated. That is why people often gorge on fatty foods like pizza, fries, burgers, and chips. And fat interferes with the digestion of carbs and insulin response, so pairing carbs and fat together is especially deadly.

You're fighting a losing battle here because fat has 9 calories per gram while carbs have 4 calories per gram. Even if fat is more satiating (which it isn't) how could it overcome its handicap of being more than twice as calorie dense?
Fat is also harder to digest. It is sorta like a thick sludge that requires extra processing. it doesn't raise blood sugar and takes a while to stimulate feelings of satiety. That is why people over eat fatty foods all the time! Their body isn't telling them to stop.

I'm talking about starch here btw. fructose doesn't raise blood sugar. liquid carbs like soda and juice are obviously unhealthy and fattening.

>Fat is also harder to digest.
Not him but no it fucking isn't you retard. Fatty meats are the easiest thing to digest. It's shit like fruits and vegetables that don't digest well and require more elaborate GI tracts to break everything apart (in human GI tracts you get a lot of insoluble "fiber" instead when you try to eat those foods, which is another way of saying you get undigested material passing through your system). You're told to eat meat and stay away from high fiber fruits and vegetables when you have intestinal problems for that specific reason.

It still takes a long time to digest starch or fat.

it takes many hours to digest even a simple piece of bread completely

so through that time the bread is releasing sugar into the bloodstream and helping you feel full.

the initial quickness at which starch is digested is important while eating a meal, because it helps signal the body to stop eating.
