bone aple tee

I know you're likely just trolling, but the expression is "bone apt for teeth" which, from what I've heard dates back to an old practice of slow roasting small birds until even their bones are soft and succulent enough to bite into, this being a measure of a finely cooked meal.

that's horseshit.

the original expression is bond-applied deed, which is a legal definition of property ownership secured without significant collateral held by the mortgage-granting entity. Since most restaurant spaces are purchased this way, the saying was often inscribed on plaques and placed inside the establishment. Over time, what was a bit of legalese grew to signify a joyous revel, as patrons would see the inscription and repeat it to each other. And as language is wont to do, even the words evolved from bond-applied deed to bone apple tee.

marvelous.

Please stop with the disinfo. Before it was bastardized, the expression was 'ban apple tv' which came as a result of mounting criticism of Apple's Apple TV media player for it's poor hardware, clunky remote, inflated price, unfocused interface, and drifting focus away from the streamlined home theater experience offered better and for cheaper by competitors like Roku and Amazon Fire TV. The hysteria reached such a mounting point that any public establishment utilizing an Apple TV to entertain their customers came under steep backlash. To gain support and show solidarity, Android TV and Roku-based dining establishments began greeting their customers with 'ban apple tv' as they dug into their meals. As apple tv faded into obscurity, it lost much of its original meaning but stuck around in many restaurants. An interesting bit of trivia.

It's actually derived from "bone after tweet", a figure of speech popular in the African-American community among men who would solicit sexual intercourse via twitter – a practice more commonly known as "sliding into the dm's". After finding a suitable mate, it's customary for a man to take her to dinner before commencing sexual activity. However, he would always announce "bone after tweet" before the meal began to make his intentions clear.
