The only 3:30 break I take is the end of the day, and it lasts until 7am the next day.

I am not like most union workers. I am a stickler for getting shit done. I don't tolerate lazy, and work circles around some of my brothers. We are employed because of quality, not cost. Overall my local (pipefitters) is a very driven and determined bunch of people. I am not a clock sucker, but these people exist in both organized and non-union outfits. We do shitcan people fairly regular for making us look bad. We bring them up on charges, shun them and pretty much stave them out. Different locals are different....Our territory is competitive, so we have to be top tier.

Wow, that is crazy. In my local as a pipefitter, we deal with all sizes of pipe. 12" is not abnormal, and I have worked with anything from 1/4" tubing up to 72". We are not limited. Boilermakers only have from the boiler to the first break from the boiler, so the first flange is the end of their job. Our local is a "mixed" local of pipefitters and plumbers. We weld, we plumb and we do medical gas as well as refrigerant lines. One thing we seem to have in common is that laborers are worthless. Ours are limited to cleaning up garbage...Once it hits the ground, it is their mess to clean up. In order to fuck them out of work, I NEVER let stuff hit the ground. If we are doing demo work, I make sure I carry every piece out unless someone has told me otherwise....and at that point I am a nazi about making sure my work area is clean. I will scream at the top of my lungs that I need my fucking floor cleaned NOW. It is rare that this happens. I did make a concrete worker cry 2 years ago just by being mean to him. He was non-union, and he started using my lift while I was on break. I tore him up and down and he started tearing up. He really turned it on when I called him a worthless rat pussy. I don't hate non-union workers, as we all have a job to do...but you won't see me using the tools they paid for, and for damn sure I better not catch them using the tools our employer has gotten for us, especially something as useful as a scissor lift.
