They didn't. They quietly moved them all to Mexico in a reverse illegal immigration scheme. Now, Mexicans run across the border, go to a gas station, realize there are no 3D doritos, and go back home in disgust. It has reduced illegal immigration by 95%.

But America has lost because now 3D Doritos are no longer available in the land of the free. WE have become the 3rd world and Mexico has the technological lead with 3D snacking technology.
