as a begining, chili and soups are pretty simple, spaghetti carbonara is rather simple aswell although a favorite (and I still mess it up from time to time, just try to remember not only add a little bit of garlic and a lot of cheese).

How to cook steak:
1) Get ribeye or New York Strip, or sirloin if you are poorfag/convinced you will fail.
2) Get cast iron.
3) Let the steak sit out for at least four hours so it gets to room temperature all the way through.
4) Put cast iron in oven, preheat to 500.
5) Rub canola oil, salt, and pepper on steak.
6) Remove cast iron from oven, put on stovetop over high flame for at least five minutes. Get that fucker HOT.
7) Put steak on cast iron. 45 seconds, then flip, then another 45 seconds.
8) Put steak and cast iron in oven for 2 and a half minutes. Flip, cook for another 2 and a half.
9) Remove steak from cast iron, let sit for five minutes.
10) Eat steak.

Just made a really good batch of butternut squash soup. Takes a while but it’s super easy

Ingredients
>2 medium butternut squash
>2 carrots diced
>2 celery stalks diced
>2 small white onions
>1 box of chicken stock
>2tablespoons butter
>dry seasoning (salt,pepper, cinnamon,nutmeg,cayenne pepper, brown sugar.)

>cut open the squashes vertically and remove all the seeds
>heat oven to 350
>brush olive oil over the surface of all the squashes, season liberally with salt, pepper, brown sugar, nutmeg and really anything else you want. Brush all of them again
>cook on a baking sheet for about 50min-1hr
>take them out and scoop out all of the insides of the squashes. Throw away the rind and save the insides

>dice up all your veggies
>heat up your soup pot with the butter in the bottom
>sautée all the veggies for about 5 minutes
>turn up the heat and add the scooped out squash and just enough chicken stock to just cover everything. Save the rest for later
>stir up everything and then let it get to a boil, once it starts bubbling reduce to a simmer and cover
>let it cook for about 40-50 min
>Use an immersion blender or transfer the mix to a blender to get it nice and thick
>add the mix back to the soup pot and addmore chicken stock if the consistency isn’t right
>congrats you just made one of the better fall soups

I make mine very similar but add garlic, coriander powder and sage. Also I go very light on the cinnamon (just let a half stick simmer in it) and nutmeg (just a pinch), no added sugar but add heavy cream after the puree.
