Plenty of shitty delivery drivers like this, another common scam for cash tippers is to convince retards they need to write the tip amount on the receipt, thus charging their card for the same amount. Well, it isn't, it's a convenience fee. The only people I tip are delivery drivers, they're actually using their own car and gas to bring food to me. It's much much more than sitting down in a restaurant and carrying a tray for me. She's not using her own tray, her own glasses for drinks, but he's got a poor car and has to deal with so much traffic. I don't mind tipping someone for actual service, and the "delivery charge" goes right to the boss/company, not the driver.

I don't believe this story for a second. If it is true call the location and tell the manager. The employee will most likely get fired for that if the manager isn't a complete degenerate. At the restaurant I use to work at, if you fucked with tips in a dishonest manner, there was no second chances or warnings, your ass was fired immediately.

I don't know how many places you've worked, but at pizza places, the only ones who don't go out on delivery are phone girls. Back of the house are also delivery drivers, so they take someone off staff to drive out food, that's the delivery fee. It's not like they just play assgrab while waiting for orders to come in and the cooks to make them, they go from making food, to driving it out, and going right back to the kitchen
