I live near Manhattan Chinatown but I rarely go. I find the food too greasy, garlicky and a bit boring. It's cool that they have such a long history, and strong ties to one region of China (I'm told that even now a large portion of Manhattan Chinatown are originally from the Taishan region of Guangzhou) but it's bad for variety.

If I lived near a more modern chinatown with better quality food, or a chinatown that had more variety (like Queens) I would go more often.

I used to live right by Oakland chinatown, would get dim sum with my girlfriend on our days off, and I still get banh mis every other week or so. This might sounds obvious, but everything matters and you should work on everything: body, money, style, hobbies/lifestyle and game. Mine doesn't and never has had any.

There is a nearby town with two Chinese restaurants. Both restaurants were, at one time, quite good.

The first was in a smaller location originally but took over a much larger space when the restaurant in it closed. They now have such a huge buffet that they cannot keep everything fresh.

The owners of the second restaurant sold it to someone else and moved away. The new owners have absolutely no care about cleanliness. They have even been seen scraping food from the plates of people who had left back onto the buffet for other people to eat.
