I was much in your position a few months ago. I've done nothing but drink whiskey, and on a whim decided to try tequila, upon which a friend recommended Cazadores. Anejo tastes much like a watered down whiskey, with a slight sweetness to it from the tequila itself. Cazadores is cheap and easily acquired, so I'd say go for it.

If you like what you tasted, try Peligroso next. It's pricey at 40 dollars a bottle, but it's worth it.
