I mostly have this problem when I'm salting someone. The average normie is petrified of using too much salt so even though my friends and family know I've got 12 years of restaurant kitchen and management experience every time I salt steaks, chicken, fish, stir fries, burgers, whatever, they always knee jerk with "Wow that's a lot of salt". Of course whenever I see them cook they pick up the barest amount of salt with their fingers or barely a dash with their salt shaker.

How come normie are like this with salt? I was like this too before I started watching Gordon Ramsay and the experience in restaurants I have, but I cant figure out where I learned to be scared of salting food when I was younger.

That being said I always add crushed pepper to my ramen, it's awesome. Never tried cheese but it doesn't appeal to me at all so I probably never will therefore can't comment on whether you're dumb for doing that or not.

I prepared some guacamole for my gf when we were seeing each other for first times, chopped half of a mild red pepper in there and she almost cried after tasting it. Because for years daytime television "doctors and experts" told everyone that salt gives you cholesterol and high blood pressure and fat housewives ate that shit up. They still think salt if bad for you yet they're still fat. Salt only really negatively affects your blood pressure if you already have blood pressure issues. When I was younger I used to put lots of salt in everything I made. Then once I oversalted something and it tasted gross and made me nauseous. After that I went down to standard whitey levels of salt and built myself back up to where my fiancee thinks it's a lot but the food comes out good.
