it's fucking easy to "learn to cook", every thread that asks always gets the same reply : buy a cooking book/look up recipes online, don't be scared to experiment, and practice makes perfect. but in all honesty if you need to be taught to cook you're probably clinically retarded and should stick with whatever the daycare center feeds you.

It's like the rest of 4chan: 2% great information, 98% bullshit and justifiable racism.

uhm sweetie, we're talking about "learning to cook", as in, basics. NOT advanced fusion bullshit or haute gastronomie, fucking basic elementary cooking. Now go play outside while adults talk

>> No.11150031

>haute gastronomie
That is what it taught in basic cooking classes.
If you buy the CIA's professional chef then you are learning french haute technique.

Haha
There is a huge difference between following instructions and actually knowing how to cook.

>> No.11151666

if you already have a solid base of knowledge for cooking, this place is really fun. It's full of irony and sarcasm and also some really good information. The problem is, if you don't already know how to cook, you won't know which is which. If you want to learn to cook, there are far better resources out there. That being said, there is also some really good stuff here too sometimes, but you really need a basic understanding of what is shit and what is ironic first.

TL;DR Don't try to learn a whole lot here, for your own sake

>> No.11151690

>>11151621
Yes, there is. And all we can offer here is instructions.

The board used to be better but all the good threads either got banned or drowned under the mass shitposting from b-tier bait threads, fast food shilling and r9k/poltards spamming frog's to go with their personal blog posts

/ck/ is probably the single worst place on the internet to learn about cooking.
everything you learn will be completely wrong.
you could actually learn more by watching howtobasic. some of his videos are actually decent tutorials before the part where he goes crazy and throws eggs at things.
