Is Tabasco the most overrated hot sauce in history of hot sauces?

It literally only makes the food taste like vinegar. It's great to spice up salads, but for anything else, Sriracha is the better choice.

The regular stuff, yeah. But you have to understand that it really first became popular when most American whites had never had hot sauce before, so it was edgy and different. There’s been an explosion in the types and availability of hot sauces in the past couple decades. Tabasco garlic is pretty good though. (But Cholula garlic is better)

Sriracha tastes like skr8 chemicals and it's SWEETENED. Who the fuck puts sugar in hot sauce? It's not like adding fruit, which happens to have sugar - this red squirty goop has sugar as the 2nd ingredient. Absolutely haram.

If you want a decent vinegar/chili based hot sauce get Gringo Bandito, which uses decent quality vinegar. I usually go for habanero sauces like Melindas.

I don't see how Tabasco is particularly overrated. It's just popular. Sriracha on the otherhand is truly overrated since it's achieved culinary fad status. You're not going to see "Tabasco Fries" or "Tabasco Grilled Chicken" at a restaurant or "Tabasco <X>" at your local grocery stores. I mean I think I've seen Tabasco flavored Chips before but there are a million more Sriracha-flavored food products.

Tabasco isn't amazing or revolutionary but it's pretty decent for eggs, sandwiches, tacos, and as an additive for sauces since it's basically just vinegar and hot peppers which are two pretty basic ingredients that you can simply use via Tabasco. Sriracha on the otherhand has a very distinct flavor and anything you put it on will taste like Sriracha so it's not nearly as flexible as a sauce.

TL;DR: Tabasco isn't overrated, it's just popular due to how simple of a sauce it is. Sriracha is overrated due to it's fad status and its overwhelming placement in pop cuisine.
