French food is objectively the most overrated cuisine on earth. Everything is just underseasoned, drowned in butter or animal fat, with little to no texture except for shitty pastry dough that they wrap everything in. Japan. It's a meme, but they literally put unreal amounts of attention to detail in prep and sourcing and it really shows in the quality. Eating high-grade sushi or steak actually changes your view on food.
