From a philosophical stance calling it "problem free" poses a number of concerns. Firstly the meaning of "problem " in this context. By stating that it is a problem free philosophy we begin to wonder if the philosophy itself is truly without problems. The answer of course is no, there are concerns or 'problems' with all guiding philosophies. This leaves us to wonder; however, if they are meaning that this philosophy leads to its followers living a life devoid of problems. I propose, that even if you have no worries, that does not mean you have no problems. The fact that they do not worry about their problems does not mean they don't exist, they are simply ignored by the followers of the philosophy. So, as you can see, it is not truly a "problem free" philosophy.

Chinks torturing fish barely counts

The meat industry is very cruel. The idea of a place that fills every square inch of space with living, feeling creatures so they can be herded onto a production line that systematically kills and cuts them up belongs in a dystopian sci-fi story. There'd be a greater number of vegans if everyone had to spend a full day in a slaughter house, or had to kill and gut their own meals.

Personally it doesn't bother me much, but I totally understand vegans.

Being part of the killing and slaughter of farm animals/hunting of game was normal for most western children 100 years ago. Hell it's still normal depending on location. In my part of Sweden it is considered healthy for children to partake in hunting and skinning of animals and the few vegetarians that I know of come from big cities where they've only ever eaten store bought meat. During elementary school we were taken to the local abattoir where they showed us how meat you buy in the store was prepared and many of us had parents that either hunted or kept animals for slaughter for their meat.

Comparing soulless, Chink bugmen deliberately causing as much stress and pain on an animal as possible before consumption to western farm and game animal treatment is ignorant to say the least.

Scientifically wrong, blood flow from stress before death creates lactic acid build up in the muscles and flesh making meat noticably less tender and succulent. Look up the Japs way of killing fish called Ike Jimwa it's all about killing fish as quickly and as humanly as possible so the meat is the best for sushi and stuff

>> No.11108587

>>11108557
I know it was normal, because it was necessary. Hunting and farming animals isn't as necessary as it used to be, and I think people realize that now, even if it's subconscious. I believe if more people had to witness the autonomous death of hundreds of animals a day, they would deem it unnecessary in the modern age and would be willing to make personal sacrifices to avoid it.

Learning to do away with most meat is inevitable anyway unless a plague puts a large dent in humanity. It makes as much sense as recycling, but sacrificing meat isn't as easy as sorting garbage.

My point is that the people that were subjected to the killing of animals, even on an industrial scale, as they were growing up ended up with a far more positive view of meat consumption than people who grew up just eating whatever their mom made them in their city apartment, detached from the killing. Mind you this is from the perspective of someone from a Nordic country where animal protection laws and quite stringent.
