Cook the oatmeal in a lot of water for a long time. 1 part oatmeal, 5 parts water, 1 hour simmering, or maybe a little more. Top with chocolate chips and raisins. Die in ecstasy.

>What do you like to put on your oatmeal, anon?
fruit, brown sugar, honey, syrup, spices, cheese, ham, bacon, coconut cream, dairy cream
NOTE: Not all at the same time.

>What type of oatmeal do you like?
Steel-cut or thick rolled

>Are instant oats shit?
No, just substandard in comparison to steel-cut and thick-rolled. Cream of wheat is shit.

>What is the best brand of oats?
Oats is oats.

>What do you like to put on your oatmeal, anon?
milk, salt, and walnuts
>What type of oatmeal do you like?
instant and quick-cooking are both good
>Are instant oats shit?
i usually eat walnuts with oatmeal so i like the smooth and creamy texture compared to steel-cut. i only tried steel-cut once a long time ago so maybe i should give them another chance though.
>What is the best brand of oats?
i've only tried store brand and quaker, quaker has a bit of a better texture but store brand is still okay

Assuming that a) people are eating porridge for health and b) anyone cares what you think about their eating porridge means you're full of the mistakes

Also, I like golden syrup as a treat and honey as standard

I buy a big bag of granola, and a big bag of plain oats and mix em together and have it with milk. The dried fruit in the granola is so sweet that it works out nicely having the oats in there too, also makes it cheaper.

oh man oatmeal my favourite thing. here we go

jumbo oats are the best oats, instant is shit and 90% of time the reason why tastelets don't like oatmeal.

i eat my oatmeal with either homemade jam/agave syrup/mango purée/peanut butter/plain

+ banana, whatever berries are available at that time of year, and coconut flakes

oatmeal is the shit, couldn't imagine my life without it. and really guys, upgrade your instant oats to jumbo oats and say good bye to soggy porridge forever

My morning routine two or three days a week:
Half cup of Irish steel cuts and two cups of water into the rice maker.

Shower, dress, wake up kids, pack lunches, etc... rice cooker is awesome for not getting it too done no matter how long I take to get back to it. I like my steel cuts with a bit of tooth remaining.

Oatmeal split into two cups.
For my seven year old:
1Tbs butter, 1Tbs brown sugar, big pinch of cinnamon
For me:
1Tbs butter, 1Tbs chia seeds, 1Tbs ground flax seed, 2Tbs peanut butter

Measurements are approximate, not autistic about it, we just throw it all in there and stir.

My older kids won't eat oatmeal, they are cream of wheat babies like their mother. My 12 year old once tasted my oatmeal before I started adding the peanut butter, he said it tasted "like sawdust and sadness".

I've been seeing a lot of "overnight oats" on various food blogs and thought I might check it out as an easy breakfast.

After cooking and adding to a bowl, I like to top my oatmeal with some cream and maple syrup.

If I have pears around I add them during the cooking process so they become nice and soft but not quite mushy yet. I love that texture.
