Honestly I'm not surprised, most Japanese stay in Japan. I have had some fantastic Japanese food in Singapore in an actual Japanese restaurant (I've never been to Japan) but honestly I've had just as good Japanese food in San Francisco served by Vietnamese people (no idea who the cooks were).

The truth is, if you are eating at a budget restaurant you are getting mystery meat, doesn't matter what the "cuisine theme" is.

I got kicked out of a japanese restaurant because this happened. I was told to go to this "great" sushi joint near downtown los angeles and when I got there I noticed it was run by mexicans and the clientele was mostly black

I sat down and the waiter came up to me and I asked for fried chicken and watermelon but he looked at me confused then I said something like "maybe you don't speak the english, so i'll have some fucking nachos and a mexican pizza ese"

he asked what my problem was and I explained that this shit restaurant may as well sell nigger and spic food because that's their main clientele. the manager kicked me out and I called the police on them and ran
