Finally getting back into the degenerate lifestyle of cooking.
Are Vans' Made for Makers shoes decent enough in the kitchen?
I used to wear Mozo brand, but feel like switching it up.

I am a world class chef and wear Vans®, made for the makers.
Before I was slipping and sliding all over the kitchen (kinda like a lovesick penguin on ice, hahaha), now I can finally stay stable and on my feet.
Thanks Vans®,

I work at The CheeseCake facrory, and to be honest our chef wears Vans®, made for the makers.
He is always running back and forth between the dining room, and never slips.
I really need to try a pair, could save my life, who knows.

New Balance 626v2 slip-resistant shoes. I work in a machine shop and walk around outside very often, so these shoes get plenty of use. They're very comfortable, helped alleviate back pain, and really do provide a lot of traction in slippery conditions. Last winter was maybe the only winter I never slipped on ice, and I was drunk the entire time after work.

I'm on my second pair and plan on just buying the same shoes every time they wear out. They're also one of the very few shoe models that meet my top 3 criteria of having an XX-wide option, don't look like total dogshit, and are under $100.

Weird, I've had one pair that i used until the sole had a hole in it (walked a fuckton) and was so consumed it felt like walking barefoot but the rest of the shoe was still perfectly intact

I tend to stick to my tried and true boots. They've helped me in many jobs, like butcher, cook, deli. What's great about them is they're non-slip, steel toe, waterproof, insulated, oil resistant. Helps a bunch during the winter, and in most food related jobs.

these fuckers right here. the only thing i've slipped on with these is solid pieces of animal fat, and even then only an inch or so before i caught traction again. not only do they nearly give you the ability to walk on water, they are possibly the most durable shoes i've ever owned, and i've had a pair last two years working in "fryolators and microwaves": the restaurant before wearing out. they're also extremely comfortable, as much as (if not more) my onitsuka tigers.

the downside: they'll run you around $110. shoes for crews will usually run around $30 to $50 on average, but they're only made to last about six months to maybe a year on the high end. walmart shoes may be $20, but you'll definitely have blisters, foot and back pain, and likely need to replace them in the same amount of time. pay-less non-slips are absolute garbage, and you should never buy them. i've had a pair that didn't even make it through a single month.
