I like Spinach, and I'd like to eat more of it, but every time I buy a big container of it, I rarely get through it all since I dont really like it by itself. I was thinking maybe there's a way I can mix up the container into one big salad that will last a little while. Like with processed mushrooms, egg, bacon, or whatever else you'd put in a salad. Maybe the dressing too, just make it ready to eat with no need to dirty any extra dishes making it.

Any suggestions for what I could do here? I

I make this a lot, except normally with rice wine vinegar instead of soy sauce. You can change the dressing however you want but the basic technique of blanching, then shocking, then squeezing out the water, chopping, is genius. It keeps well.

That's the way to make cooked spinach into a salad. Otherwise just buy baby spinach and use it instead of lettuce in any salad you like.

Blend it all up with some stock and gummy vitamins and freeze it in ice cube trays, then swallow the whole ice cubes. It's not like you enjoy the act of eating to begin with.

I could try this, i've never really had spinach cooked before, but if it tastes good and keeps well that would be great, the goal is to make for easy meals that include spinach with all of the hassle done the first time.

I battle the pointlessness of what we eat and why we do it every day. Vitamin rich flavorless gruel that fully sustains us in every way should be the answer to ever meal, and besides the point you put it in your mouth, chew it, and swallow it, nothing really matters beyond that point but nutritional value and how your body can use it, yet here I am looking for cooking tips and always buying different things, since I find it difficult to eat the same things often.

A Mediterranean flavor profile works really well for spinach

I like to toss spinach with canned chicken (or leftover roasted, if I have it), cherry tomatoes, feta, kalamata olives, artichoke, and top with balsamic and oil, or a feta vinagarette right before serving. Great in a wrap or on its own.

Spinach is also great sauteed. I do mine with some chopped bacon or pancetta, chopped kalamatas, and shallots. A 50/50 mix of spinach and baby arugula is even better for this.

I like spinach just on it's own, a bit of salt and a dash of black pepper is just fine by me.

... I'm just a cheap date, a drop or two of sesame oil is also nice.

Are you stupid? How can this be a legitimate question? You're asking for salad recipes, which is just a bunch of ingredients mixed together. If you know the flavor of the ingredients, you'd know the flavor of the salad. There isn't any cooking involved so the salad isn't going to taste any different than the combination of the ingredients.

I love raw spinach, a handful at a time sauteed in the mornings before the raw eggs go in, into breakfast scrambled eggs, kind of a way to double the eggs sneakily more satisfying without the trouble of a stuffed omelet. A spinach quiche can be enjoyed for a couple of days, and also kept in the freezer and reheated in the oven. Individual pies can be made in tart pans, in small sizes too.

Raw spinach I do like by itself, if sauteed very well with some sliced garlic and olive oil, almost crispy. You can squeeze an entire bag of spinach down to a small side dish. If your spinach is kept dry in the fridge it lasts many days. Do not buy moist bags, as they are already old. Spinach salad does keep as well as the spinach itself, kept very dry. Raw mushrooms, sweet onions, pepper rings, hardboiled eggs, walnuts and a hot bacon-y vinaigrette is pretty heavenly. Toppings like pumpernickel croutons, dried fruit, grapefruit, mango, feta, strawberries or apples, are nice with a sweeter creamier dressing.

I adore a spinach dip made from frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry and it keeps to enjoy for 3 or 4 days and delicious ice cold as a snack. It's not light, since it has a cup each of mayo and sour cream. The older knorr recipes that include water chestnuts and a couple bunches of green onions is the way to go. Make it that way, and enjoy with veggies and bread alike.

They sell spinach here in big resealable plastic containers, so thats usually what I buy. I love omelettes and I have no idea why I never thought to throw spinach in too. If I make a quiche, plastic wrap and freeze it immediately, how long do you think it would last for?

I'll have to try making my own spinach dip too, will have to wait for sales on cream and mayo though. Thank you for all the ideas.
