When I was 13 I won a big basket with groceries in a drawing contest. It was in Winter so I'm guessing it was probably Christmas themed, but I don't recall.
What I do recall is the basket containing a tiny little bottle of cherry wine, and one day when I was home alone after school I tasted the wine, found it to be delicious, and finished the bottle.
I realised right away that my parents would notice it missing, so I went to the local store to buy a replacement. They didn't have novelty-sized ones, though, so I had to buy a full 70-cl. bottle. I used that to refill the small one and then figured I might as well drink the rest.
I could barely stand up or stay awake when my parents arrived home in the afternoon. They must have known I had somehow got myself drunk but they still made me bike my whole paper route when the stack of papers got there around 4PM. Took about two hours instead of the usual one and I was asleep while biking for parts of it but I did get through it.
Bit irresponsible letting me do that I think but I sure learnt my lesson.
