You're not a pleb, but you are what many would call an anti-snob. You purposely deny something that might actually be good because it's a symbol of the kind of people you dislike. They annoying beer connoisseur who talks about traditional styles and bittering units is as controlled by the idea of connoisseurship as you are, but you are letting your dislike of the idea control your behavior instead of his embrace of it. If you really just liked beer you'd appreciate how good a Lone Star is on a hot day with some barbecue as well as how delicious some craft beers can be, because you wouldn't give a fuck about the symbolism your choice of beer has attached to it.

Posted in one of the threads a few days ago about hating the taste of all beers/lagers I've tried (Cider is fine but at the end of the day it's just apple juice).

I mentioned how I hated the bitterness in the aftertaste that they all seemed to have, and a few anons recommended trying wheat beer. Just had my first bottle today and it was a great recommendation, it has absolutely none of the bitterness at the end but it still just tastes like regular beer (was a supermarket own brand that I tried, I tried looking for a proper one but they had none in stock)

Going to try a stout next which apparently also lacks the bitterness and will hopefully have a differing taste. I was looking for some Hoegaarden the other day after a friend was talking about it (I didn't realise it was a wheat beer until I got home and googled it which is what then piqued by interest), and also a Blue Moon which the same friend was also talking about but again, I didn't realise it was a wheat beer until I got home and googled it.

Forgive me, I must have been wrong when I said the wheat beer I tried today was a supermarket own brand one (I just assumed it was because I bought it in Lidl if I recall, and 95% of their stuff is own brand, plus I'm not familiar with beer brands in general with me not being a drinker at all)

That's actually the brand I had, and I loved the lack of the hoppy bitterness at the end (I've probably only ever had a handful of pints in my life so I'm not familiar with the terminology or even any good at differentiating different beers since I'm so unfamiliar with them), but it still had a relatively bland beer taste, which is why I'm looking forward to finding some Hoegaarden or Blue Moon as I believe they have orange which might make them a bit more enjoyable.

Hoegaarden is not exactly "bland." It's light and easy to drink for sure, but it has a distinct spiced wheat flavor. Personally it's one of my all time favs but I've known people that have been put off by it. For me, it's a perfect balance of refreshing drinkability with full flavor.
