How old were you when you started enjoying eating vegetables?

"Normal is eating vegetables that you hate, going to the gym that you hate, getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work, driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for, in order to get to a job that you need so you can pay for the clothes, car and the house that you leave empty all day in order to afford to live in it." - Ellen DeGeneres

I hated eating vegetables as a Millennial but now that I'm a Boomer I still hate vegetables other than carrots, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, long beans and spinach but eat them because they're good for you.

I started eating vegetables without disgust at the age of about 14.
Would have been earlier but chronic tonsillitis in childhood involved constant associations of vegetable meals with the gagging sensation of illness. Parents tried force-feeding, made it worse, after the tonsil removal at 6 that is.

Parents eventually fixed this by using lighter salads instead of full plates of vegetables, and integrating vegetables into meals. 20 now and honeyed carrots are a favourite.

Even as a very little kid I would eat greanbeans, spinach, broccoli, carrots, peas, basically anything other than cabbage and sprouts, and that was just because they smell funny.

Can we talk for a second about sprouts though? Why does anybody cook them? They are so much better raw; they have a great texture, and the flavor is much less caustic when its not boiled and seeped around inside.

I've always liked vegetables because I don't cave into peer pressure

You are worse than an American.

My parents always had a big garden so from as far back as I can remember I ate veg. The only problem was, my mom usually cooked the fresh green beans, peas, carrots, brocolli, brussel sprouts, corn and greens (other than salad greens) to absolute mush. At least I inherited the love of garden fresh veg but I've learned far superior ways to cook them.
