Not enough. My goal is to eventually make a quiche so vast it requires the life of every creature in the cosmos.

Shortbread.

It's only three ingredients, not even Jack could fuck this up.

Most recipes fuck it up by not having you bake it long enough at a low temperature, so they come out soft. Shortbread should be crisp. 275F for 40 minutes is good for most regular-sized cookies but a lot of recipes say 375F for 12 minutes and they come out with a disappointing texture that way.

Most shortbread recipes have a LOT less sugar in the dough than regular cooke recipes, like 1/3 the amount. So even with a bit more sugar on the outside it's not as sweet as other cookies.

My go to when I want cookies but I don't want to put on pants to go to the store. It's pretty much roux (slightly more flour than butter) with sugar. Mix together until it comes together like cookie dough and let it sit for a few minutes then form the cookies and bake them off.

You need the right flour and water jmless you can adapt, though.
My great great grandmother once cried afyer she came to America and found she could not make her shortbread cookies the way she used too.
So even though I think regional food protection laws are pretty gay, I understand where the sentiment comes from. Better sourcing labels in general I could get behind even as a libertarian. I wanna know the origin and chain of custody of the stuff that keeps me alive.

Sticky rice I don't see too much love for it here in burger land but it is supper easy to make and cost effective. Also you can make rice balls that are filling quick lunches for work with minimal effort and different fillings to keep things fresh.
Pic related costs $20 on Amazon and is good for steaming veggies too.

not the guy you replied too but usually yes, a tiny bit ice cold water is added to the dough to bring it together. egg yolks by themselves don't give the same tenderness imo

No, I appreciate fat people food but I don't eat it all the time. Also apart from the baked brie those recipes aren't that calorie dense, just time consuming to make.

Probably because they don't fucking sell it anywhere in this shitty country. I've been to probably 15 stores looking for some, including my local international market that sells shit like jackfruit, and they still didn't have it. Glutenous rice flour is another thing I want but they don't sell it anywhere either.
