A large dish of sushi where i live is about $20 and that is like enough for my monthly eating expenses so I'm thinking about training to become a sushi chef and learning to make all the dishes and setting up a place where you phone order your sushi and come to pick it up later; that way there wont be too much pressure on me since I'll also have some made before hand.

Is learning to make sushi and all those Japanese dishes really hard? I'm still gong to try my best, but I want to know what I'm getting into first.

Making the sushi is the easiest part about running a sushi business. It's not hard at all. It's everything else that's difficult.

The 10 year thing is a japjew meme to get free labour out of kids because profit margins are terrible unless you're super famous.

and >>10779123 I understand that the idea of a business s farfetched so maybe I can just work at a sushi bar and then slowly build up my rep over time. At least, I realise that the only way to live comfortably with a culinary profession is to have years of experience

Im sorry for making light of sushi cheffing

I gotta tell you OP its fun at first, but the constant amount of fucking idiots that want their orders made special and faggots that want soy wraps drenched in fucking sauce will slowly start to beat you down until you wish that you have never even knew about sushi.

Japanese cooking is actually fairly simple, a barrier for a newcomer is usually the ingredients. Soy sauce, dashi stock, sake, miso or a combination of those ingredients are are used in basically every japanese dish so start off with those.

Also this is a good book.

Japanese sushi chefs dedicate their entire lives to the craft.

That said, no it's probably not that hard, Japs are just turbo autists about everything. For them every endeavor is a lifelong pursuit.

Get an entry level job at a grocery store sushi place. That's where I got my start. After a couple years I saved enough money to franchise my own location. I make around $12,000 a month.
