I've decided to put myself together a little sampler hot sauce pack. Any suggestions? Anything I should drop and replace?

Pls no Aardvark, 'Tobacco', Cholula or Sriracha

>> No.10772890

try sauces from heartbreaking dawns, puckerbutt, bravado spice co, and burns & mccoy

these places do the best. from the ones pictured, the best sauce there is melinda's xxxtra. particularly if you like carrots.

>> No.10772913

swampadelic (primos) and slingblade (cajohns), are two fantastic sauces from companies not listed above.

that's probably the one sauce you must have, if i had to only choose one. it's fucking awesome.

Alright, I'll check them out. The reason I chose those brands in my pic is because I've had Melinda's Habanero and enjoyed it and I see them mentioned a lot.

yeah they're good. i'd pass on the ghost pepper sauce (and their scorpion pepper sauce), but the xxxxtra reserve sauce is awesome and has good heat for a habanero-based sauce. marie sharps products are very similar to melindas overall and are also good.
the ones i am pointing you towards are a definite step up in terms of heat, so it depends on what you like. but they're going to be almost entirely natural, extract-free sauces with great heat.

I've never had a ghost pepper sauce. It's always hard to talk about heat with people because everyone has their own idea of how hot is too hot.

Now I'd like to say I like really hot, but not so hot that I can't eat. My girl thinks that Cholula is too hot, yet my dad could squirt bear mace all over his face and say it's as mild as ketchup. Personally I liked Marie Sharp's Habanero but wish it was just a bit more spicy, that's why I chose Belizean heat. The ghost pepper I'm interested in the taste of the pepper itself.

Hot Ones unironically has on some pretty good sauces, and they give the heat levels so you can pick the ones at the heat you like.

>protip: they had secret aardvark on because it's actually really good

>> No.10773101

the cheech garlic hot sauce is pretty good in terms of flavor. in terms of spiciness not that hot though

Can /ck/ recommend me a good hot mustard sauce? Just finished a bottle of Tropical Pepper Co.'s Trinidad Mustard Sauce and looking for something new.

Try Secret Aardvark Habanero flavored sauce. It's basically spicy ketchup mixed with mustard and eggs.

This is the best hot sauce I ever tasted and it seemed to work with almost everything. It has a base of papaya instead of water or vinegar so it's pretty flavorful, and gets even more flavor from the mustard/garlic/onion.

>>10774799
This one has some mustard in it for flavor but I'm not sure if you'd consider it a mustard sauce.

If you like a Mexican style sauce (a little citrus, some cinnamon,) try pic related. Great flavor, 5/10 heat.

For me, it is Matouk's West Indian Flambeau Sauce, the very best hot sauce.
