How much poison do you eat every day?

Pro tip: If you consume more than 50g of sugar per day, you are literally poisoning yourself to death. Btw, that's basically 1 can of soda. God help you if you eat candie or fast food of any kind. Even big macs and pizza are LOADED with sugar.

I don't eat any refined sugars at all, zero. Nor do I use any synthetic sweeteners. No honey and few fruits. Currently, my energy source derives from organic wholegrain rice, buckwheat and a few organic grains. Am gradually reducing the starches with fat. Got no choice since I am a recovering alcoholic with severe liver damage and excess sugar is pure poison for the liver. You can easily tell if people have a stressed (fatty) liver; if they have little or no fat around their neck, arms, legs and face and yet have a huge pot belly, odds are their liver is failing. Sugar is poison and is hardly found in nature with the exception of honey (protected by bees) and sugar canes (requires tremendous energy to be extracted). It took some effort to find a substitute solution since i love food ..and some sweets, but I have found a solution that I can live with. If you completely cut out starches and sugars and replace your energy source with fats, you will drop so much weight in just a matter of months that you need to recoordinate you movements because your center of gravity will shift dramatically. Running up stairs becomes a breeze, sleep is vastly improved since you breathe much easier.. lots of benefits. However, make sure you find the right sources of fat - drinking cheap shitty olive oil as a substitute for sugar is not the idea. Got to eat a variety of nuts and seeds, eat organic butter, have some 100% mechanically pressed organic olive oil etc.

They're sorta right but don't know how to communicate it.
Calories from proteins and fat don't easily settle as fat whereas sugar does. It spikes your blood sugar quickly, makes your body produce more fattening hormones to deal with all the sugar and is literally an addictive chemical substance.

And most importantly you can just eat so much of it in one go without noticing or feeling satiated, unlike fat or proteins, because it's huge amounts in every kind of processed food especially goddamn fucking soda drinks which are the worst thing to happen to mankind and people chug their entire daily intake's worth of calories in liquid form and don't even notice, just drink fucking water instead of soda it will improve everything.

Thats just factually wrong.

Theprocess in which carbs and sugar turns to fat is called de novo lipogenesis. You should look it up. De novo lipogenesis consumes 30% of the excess carbs (thats after your body stores carbs in the form of glycogen). So you have to lose all those carbs before any can turn to fat.

However, fat is readily stored as fat.

Also wrong on the hormone part. There is something called the insulin index of food. Increased insulin production leads to increase in fat storage. High sugar foods are not the only insulinogenic foods. Look up list of insulinogenic foods. Many high protein low carb foods are just as or more so insulinogenic than high sugar foods.

Dont believe everything you hear from people trying to sell you a diet.

Was referring to 'pure' forms of sugar - like refined sugars. Beetroots are loaded with sugar but they are nowhere close to honey or sugar canes in regards to sugar concentration. I would say that eating some beetroots are good for you whilst eating or drinking an equal amount of honey or cane juice would be harmful. But you are correct, sugar is all over in nature in various concentrations.

Consider this though:
You eat a steak with baked potates and carrots.
You are now full for the next 4-6 hours and don't need to eat anything else:
vs.
You drink a can of soda, you still feel hungry, you eat a donut, you still feel hungry, you eat lunch and then drink another soda while eating. Suddenly you've had two meals worth of calories instead of one.

Y'all need to distinguish between sugar and added, refined sugar. The WHO's limit of 25g of sugar per day is added. It doesn't recommend not eating fruit, due to the different method it's metabolised (plus the fiber and micronutrients they come with).

Sucrose exists in a very wide variety of plants, including fruits. Most of the sugar in fruits is sucrose. Chemically identical to refined sugar. How could it possibly be metabolized differently?

Once the glycosidic linkage in sucrose is hydrolyzed, it is just fructose and glucose. Glucose is the main metabolic route in the body, while fructose is first converted to glucose and metabolized.

Any additional sweetness in fruits can be caused by the presence of invert sugars (glucose and fructose not linked to form sucrose). On the whole, my point is that all things should be eaten in moderation. There is no reason that fruits are "healthy" and refined sugar is not. It is about not stuffing your face like a goddamn pig.

> pizza are LOADED with sugar
I did the math: in each of my toaster oven pizzas are 5.5 grams of added sugar (for a batch of dough that makes 8 little pizzas, I put 1 tbl (~12 grams) which comes out to 1.5 grams for the dough; the remaining 4 grams comes from 1/4 cup of Ragu® sauce, which is excessive because I like extra sauce)
Back when our oven wasn't kill, I made larger pizzas about 12" in size; there's just under 15 grams of sugar in them (half the batch of dough + 1/2 cup sauce), so I could eat three whole pizzas and be no worse off than if I drank one can of soda? Or how about 9 baby pizzas?
What do you mean by "LOADED" with sugar?
