Are these things good for anything but soup? I had some soaking for 2 days and when I went to cook them-well they kinda sucked. All I could think to do was start adding things to them-smoked salami, chicken stock, rice, onions, garlic, potato, carrots, and various spices. I'd never tried them before. With red or black beans I could've made a rice dish or something. The soup came out very good only because the beans were so tasteless they absorbed all the ingredients. I almost threw them out. I also put them on the lowest temperature and let them simmer overnight. So I got a weeks worth of soup for pennies a serving. But besides that they suck. Unless someone can give me another use for them.

OK. So I'm right in believing only The U.S. Senate and the poorest people in the world eats these. Worst beans I've ever tasted. I feel bad for the Pioneers.

I think they're also referred to as cannolini beans. There's a lot of Italian dishes that use them. They can probably be used for baked beans too.

Nah I checked and double checked. They are "similar" to those,Navy beans, and any smallish oval white bean but it's made clear that they definitely are not. I would never substitute these for another type no matter how similar they looked. The plus is they keep forever but they are awful. You couldn't eat them with rice and a few seasonings for example. I'd use canned beans before these. But the soup came out good. End of the month food of you have a lot of small bits of food left in the refrigerator. After soaking overnight-I wouldn't do the quick method-cook them slow.
