I just sampled the original sauce with a hardboiled egg, sliced.
It's like if you took spaghettio's sauce and dumped a whole bunch of cayenne in it. That really is what it taste's like. A bit spicy for me but without any pepper flavor that I could distinguish.

Aardvark is a meme brand. I'm slightly a tabasco puritan since I grew up in the Carolinas where most meat sauces are vinegar with shit loads of pepper, but I'll eat just about any type of hot sauce. But Aardvark is just... weird. It's not horrible, but it's off putting as fuck and not a flavor I readily return to. I think out of all the store brand red hot sauces, Chollula is still a really solid buy because it's main ingredient is it's pepper mash. So while it's not the hottest thing you could buy, it's a really great flavor on it's own as well as being really good on anything else and delivering a satisfying kick. I'll also stan for Crystal, which is mostly a gulf thing but completely under rated. It'll kick you in the teeth, so be ready, but it's also really flavorful. You can get it on Amazon, but you'll have a hard time finding it in a store outside of New Orleans.
