What's the best way to do garlic rice? Made some the other day that turned our very good, but I feel it could be better.

Cooked some garlic in a pan over med-low with a neutral oil.
Tossed in some cooked white rice.
Added a little salt for additional flavoring.
Squeeze lemon juice over it for pan finishing.

How can it be improved?

Cook some dried chili with the garlic so chili flavor infuses the oil.

why didn't you just finely chop the garlic and toss it into the boiling rice?

It would greatly diminish the garlic flavor if you did this. You want to cook the garlic in oil so it becomes more prominent and flavors the oil too, then add your rice.
