Anyone else have a family member who thinks gourmet cooking is heating up frozen foods and trying to pass it off as homemade?

My aunt does this and it makes me absolutely nuts

Especially since whenever they come to our place we go nuts with the cooking, all home made and with real ingredients

Well yeah actually now that you mention it.. my aunt buy frozen pre cut meat and veggies and place it on a large pan topped of with frozen cheeze and calls it home made. Its served together with cold pasta wich she likes to prepare hours early and store in the refrigerator untill serving. Every visit there i get the shits even when she doesnt serve dinner.

i came home because my sister said she would make me a great lasana. i was excited. i looked at it,judged and studied it,sat there and realized that this was A FROZEN LASANA. THE NOODLES LOOKED JUST LIKE THAT PIC. IT WAS BURNT ON THE OUTSIDE AND MUSHY INSIDE. she even microwaved one ravioli to put on top. ONE. A SINGILAR RAVIOLI.
she said she made it,"iTs hOmEmAdE i sWeAr"
i saw the box in the trash.
this is what real disappointment feels like

I have an Uncle from Albany, New York who is always trying to pass off Krusty Burger hamburgers as "Steamed Hams." We just play along and enjoy them

why is this so common with boomers in particular? ive never seen any boomer in my family actually cook something, for some reason they all have hardons for prepackaged frozen shit
in contrast, ironically, the best cooks in my family are millennials

My parents are boomers and my mom is an amazing cook, especially grilling. My dad's cooking ability, however, extends to putting together sandwiches. Great guy and all, but I'm glad I take after my mom in that department.
