Name the last food you burned/overcooked

>> No.10543080

God damn eggs
Every time I always manage to break a yoke and burn at least one, I can't even boil the faggots right
Haven't had any problems cooking anything else though, I may have cooked my rabbit too long the other night it was kind of rubbery

Sweet potato in the microwave.

It was a small potato and I left it unattended in my university kitchen. Burned black and the smell didn't leave for another two weeks.

left a pot of pasta on the stove and asked my girlfriend to watch it while I went to the store. came back and she was watching some youtube documentary and the pasta was a dry, smoking mess.

evidence. before you say burning evidence is not food, you do not know the nature of my transgressions.

Brussels sprouts.

And they were somehow more delicious than usual.

Bacon, intentionally.

I've noticed this for a lot of veggies. Kale and cauliflower especially. Tried it with spiralised zucchini, but it just got soggy and sad.

Was about 6 months ago. I was drunk and tossed a frozen pizza in the oven. Cooked it for 25 minutes on broil. Realized what I did and baked it for 10 more minutes. Ate about half the pizza, but only the center. Probably for the best since I would have ate the whole damn thing if I didn’t burn the shit out of it.

I accidently left bread in the toaster oven on bake at 400 degrees.

The cheese on the bread hardened like plastic or something. It was odd.

dude, salt it heavily and let it sit 30 minutes. wring out as much water as you can and then saute it in a hot pan for just a couple minutes. the texture is great. you lose a lot of volume because it's mostly water, but it remains firm and you can get a little char on it if you like that kind of thing

scorched the milk in a batch of cheat hollandaise

>> No.10545009

>>10544996
what is cheat hollandaise and why does it use milk? I consider the 5 minute immersion blender hollandaise 'cheat hollandaise' but it has the same ingredients as the normal recipe

I cooked some noodles past al-dente

whole milk, butter and egg yolks, thickened with tapioca starch
a lot less temperamental to make and keep warm than the traditional stuff and its a little lighter

>> No.10545030

Chicken Fried Steak, I made it about 30 minutes ago. I feel terrible, but I know what I did wrong. Everyone else seemed to like it, but it was terrible.

>> No.10545040

I fell asleep making salmon. Cooked it for like an hour but ate it anyways since I can't let my groceries go to waste.

>> No.10545086

Good on ya for eating it anyway, but having been there myself I know the whole time you were suffering thinking this could have been so much better.

Made a spinach salad with it. Tasted like a combo of cat food and jerky. Absolute shit lol
