They should say "yummy" because that's all umami is, the Japanese transliteration of yummy.

Neither of these is correct.

Umami a little more specific than savory, it refers to a high level of glutamates which not all "savory" food has.

I remember when it first became a thing and people started talking about it you could actually buy a tube of ”umami paste” in the luxury food store. Never bought it tho, it costed like 20 bucks

Nobody on /ck/ willingly goes out in public

what would make someone care enough about the term to be mad, exasperated, or annoyed that people use it
do you know how many people say orientate, or pronounce "nuclear", "nuke-yoo-lur"
people say "decimate" when they should use "obliterate", because what they WANT to say is "destroyed utterly beyond all repair", not "ten percent of (X) was eliminated" (although because people didn't give a damn, as they are wont to do, the meaning has, in fact, expanded to "fucking annihilated")
"it's" is never, EVER possessive. "IT'S a great day, my dog wants ITS evening walk right now" (he, his, she, hers, it, its)
don't even get me started on ending a sentence on a participle
do you know what a well adjusted person does when they notice people making all these errors, or knowing the mistake, but being too lazy to change their behavior? do you know what people with actual lives, well balanced mental development, & healthy coping habits do?
they get the fuck over it.
it's a single word, people who are far more intelligent than you declare it useful, the general public agrees, your pathetic, meaningless, greasy ass can deal with it.
your life will massively improve when you realize that when almost everybody says a particular (and particularly useless) opinion of yours is stupid
it's probably stupid

I have autism so I correct people whenever they make a grammar mistake. To me, some of the worst offenders are their/there/they're, was/were, and who/whom
