Memes aside, it is a massive industry with a huge lobby that is attempting to put soy in literally everything you eat.

It doesn't need to be in everything. Period. There is no benefit to endless consumption of soy. It is not that great for you anyway. And like it or not, the jury is out on its hormonal effects. Inconclusive evidence is still evidence. But people on this board who lack a formal education don't understand that.

Daily reminder that it's only "in everything" in America.

Meanwhile, in reality, from the NIH:
>Consequently, the question of whether or not phytoestrogens are beneficial or harmful to human health remains unresolved. The answer is likely complex and may depend on age, health status, and even the presence or absence of specific gut microflora. Clarity on this issue is needed because global consumption is rapidly increasing. Phytoestrogens are present in numerous dietary supplements and widely marketed as a natural alternative to estrogen replacement therapy. Soy infant formula now constitutes up to a third of the US market, and soy protein is now added to many processed foods. As weak estrogen agonists/antagonists with molecular and cellular properties similar to synthetic endocrine disruptors such as Bisphenol A (BPA), the phytoestrogens provide a useful model to comprehensively investigate the biological impact of endocrine disruptors in general.

There is no lobby cramming it in things to fuck with you. Rather it's the industry catering to the demand for "muh cheaper premade food".

Soy is easy as fuck to avoid: buy basic, raw, ingredients and cook from scratch. There's zero soy in your food unless you specifically put it in there. Or, if you don't want to cook, then pony up for high quality premade food.

If you're too lazy to cook and you spend all your money on booze, vidya games, and phone toys, well, you reap what you sow.

Get farmers to grow it? Yes, it’s in demand which means more people will want to produce it to sell
Hey companies to use it? Yes, soy is cheap and versatile so you can use it in a series of products (soy lecithin, soybean oil, etc etc)

Let me simplify that.
There is a soy lobby. Its mission, like any lobby, is to promote its industry.
However, even if said lobby did not exist, soy would still be in many processed foods because it's a cheap ingredient that can be used to cater to the public's ever-growing demand for cheap food.

Whether the lobby exists or not is immaterial. Soy is a cheap raw ingredient that is used in many foods, and would be used in that capacity indipendant of a lobby; it sells on price alone.

There's an easy fix for this.
DON'T BUY PREMADE FOODS. Cook with whole foods, and keep manufactured foods down to a bare minimum. There's no soy in those carrots, or greens, or pinto beans. Most meat has likely been fed soy, so that's just how it is. Buy wild caught fish and seafood only. Bake your own bread (It's way easier than you think). And when you do buy manufactured foods, READ THE INGREDIENTS. Soy in and of itself isn't bad for you. But anything can be harmful in excess.
