Put it in the cabinet and use good stainless and non-stick pans as the need arises. Cast iron is high maintenance, and a huge pain in the ass.

They said this was the only way to achieve the perfect fried egg.

I am a man of simple wants, I only wanted to enjoy the perfect fried egg before I croak.

Stop before they become a vegetable. But I don't recommend that.

No, you misread. Carbon steel makes the best egg pan. it's what the french use for omelets.

my cast iron is gorgeous and borderline a work of art but only after i used it daily for 10 years
it's only worth it if it's worth it to you personally somehow.
it's really cool, it's an ancient lodge from when they used to machine them smooth.
you still need oil though i don't know where that meme came from

just use it a lot, with a metal spatula if you can
clean it when you're done, do not pussy out on that, just use a green pad and hot hot hot water and tiny bit of soap, then rinse real good with more hot water. then dry out with a paper towel and set it down on a hot stove for a couple of minutes to completely dry out.
like i said, it's only for weird personal reasons to use one of these things. otherwise get a stainless steel and clean with steel wool scrubby pads

>what kind of foods

Anything with fat/ requires a lot of oil

After a few months they will become more non-stick than any meme pan, and (properly maintained) will last literally your entire life.

>> No.10271302

Once you season it with canola/vegetable oil or whatever. Use butter or lard to cook in it. Other oils will get over heated and tacky reducing the non stickiness. Egg and butter = no problem.

if you smeared a thin layer of the fat around the pan and baked it at an extremely high temperature it might work, though personally I've always used oil for seasoning and never tried using fat, so I can't say for certain

nonstick, t-fal

Bacon first, slow heat, unbroken grass-fed free-range eggs. Cook properly. Cast-iron shit is garbage.
