It's bad because it's directly correlated with heart disease more than any other available food additive. Sugar and saturated fat don't even come close. Trans fat is mainly a byproduct of a chemical process meant to raise the boiling point of oil; it does not occur in nature. It's the waste that an inefficient reaction shits out into your supposed food, and the only reason it ends up in there is because removing it would be just too dang expensive.

Trans fat is essentially poison. Using it as a significant source of calories will straight-up fucking kill you. The most unhealthy foods tend to carry it in portions of maybe 1-3 grams per serving, which is *tiny*, and it's still causing clearly observable harm to the population.
