I only buy PBR on draft at places like Applebee's where it is cheap. At B-Dubs I have bought it once or twice. I would take it over a light beer, but I would tie it with regular Budweiser. I have never tried Coors Banquet but I have a feeling it might be a similar style. It goes great with chicken tendies or a nice burger.

I see it described as a "cheap" beer and that's not really true, at least anymore. I'm 23, so I never bought beer before hipsters got to it. If I buy a canned beer, I would think maybe Miller High Life. For cheap drunkenness you can't beat Milwaukee's Best Ice. $1 for a 24oz can is very reasonable, the taste is not terrible, and the alcohol content is a solid 5.9%.

Don't make any consumer decisions, positive or negative, based on image. Taste is subjective; I personally like everything except the more extreme craft styles. Price, alcohol content, calories are quantifiable. I won't make fun of you for drinking PBR. It's a good all-American beer with a decent flavor. But is it worth seeking out? Not really.
