no thats basically it. It's a decent choice when you just want something straightfoward and you don't know what's good on the menu. And shitty bars usually have it. It's not amazing but I like it.

It's fine. A step up from the standard shitty beers, but nothing to write home about. Wherever you live there's probably a local brewery that's way better and just as expensive. I'd certainly never take Blue Moon over Racer 5 or Lagunitas.

You should really only care about the taste and price. With both of those factors in mind I normally buy yuengling because I can get a 12 pack for $10-$12. If I want a particularly strong beer I'll drink coppertail unholy trippel. If I want a fruity soda pop beer I'll drink schofferhofer grapefruit shandy or bluemoon. This is why. Like most of this insufferable "people who say 'craft' beer" culture (e.g., barrel aged beers, referring to "vintage" without even knowing the etymology of the word, etc), they're ripping off something wine people have been doing since forever, without quite knowing why, just knowing that it seems "cool" and "sophisticated" and therefore must be aped without question

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garagistes

Beer is great, I love beer. If there's something that will make beer taste better, great, let's do it. You know what we shouldn't do? Pretend beer is wine. It's not wine, it's made with grain and hops. So stop that please.

Why can't beer be like wine? People jiust want to experiment and appreciate it, just because wine is the most popularly appreciated beverage doesn't mean that in seeking a similar appreciation for beer is an imitation. People do the same thing with coffee or tea or liquor.

Honestly, you sound more obnoxious and "hipster" then the people you are calling hipsters.

I know a ton of people who are as into the craft beer scene as is possible, and they are normal people, from all walks of life, not hipsters.

The hipster is you, saying beer is trying to imitate wine whatever the hell that means.

>Now I really only like those citrus floral IPAs and dislike resin piney IPAs

So much this. Have you tried Old Empire IPA from the UK? One of the tastiest IPAs in that style that I've had.

> vintage beer
> VINtage
Think about what you’re saying when you say this

Aged beverages are a thing, but whisky, rum, genever, etc get by with age statements or say the year, because “vintage” is a wine word. Doubly strange because so many of these beer tryhards seem to have a massive chip on their shoulder about some imaginary beer vs. wine rivalry

Let’s just allow beer to have its own distinctive culture and stop trying to ape other traditions

An age statement is not the year it was produced, you absolute spanner.

for foods, lagers are supreme. Blue Moon is alright and all, but it's definitely not the best Belgian beer. A nice rich quad takes that spot. No one has quads though. They're very rare. Scotch Ale is really fine too. Get Old Stock Ale from your local BevMo! today

Thats the only american beer you can regularly find here in Europe beside the (american)budweiser. Have to say it was bretty good.

Also had pic related one day and it was mindblowing.
Would like to try more but we get very few here and they usually are expensive.

Delirium brews are very heavy, they feel like a meal. Very tasty though, at least the ones I’ve tried.
