I used to buy at the Miami publix the best colombian hot chocolate bars, Luker morena (dark piloncillo sugar). Just nuke a mug of milk with a bar you snap off, and it melts as you warm the milk, just a little whisking motion with a fast spoon and it is heavenly good.

This delicious comfort drink can be greatly enhanced by the addition of Godiva white chocolate liqueur. Perfect for a cold, rainy Saturday.

I make it with unsweetened cocoa powder then add sugar to taste. I like mine dark and bitter, and find that pre-sweetened hot chocolates are too sweet.

Put cocoa powder in a mug, have to figure out how much you like for your own taste, but I usually put like 3 or 4 tablespoons. Heat up milk in another mug and slowly pour it over the cocoa powder while mixing like making a roux. Sometimes I just drink it like this, unsweetened. Sometimes I'll add sugar and maybe cinnamon or cardamom. You can use some half and half or heavy cream to make it richer but I find it doesn't really need it, the milk seems thicker with the cocoa powder mixed in.
