so i got some really good chicken and rice soup for lunch today but it did something to confuse me. it started out thick but as it cooled off it got thinner and thinner. now im not a foodologist but it generally been my experience that shit like soups will thicken as they cool, so why didnt this one?

all I can think is that the thick aspect of it is floating particulate and as it cooled it settled? Or it could be that the fat/water came out of emulsion and separated. get pics next time

Fat and water coming out of emulsion as it cooled? I didnt know that was a thing but thats probably exactly what happened, you could tell there was a lot of cream in the soup. Thanks anon!
