>eating drumstick in cartoons
Character takes a big bite of pure delicious and juicy meat.

>eating drumstick in real life
If you take a big bite of it, you have to deal with a bunch of nasty stuff like skin, cartilage, and fat. There's also a very thin bone you have to take care to not bite, or else your gum will hurt.
If you eat it the right way, with a fork and a knife, the whole fun is taken out.

I remember when i was a kid and we had chicken for lunch. I took a drumstick and tried to eat it like they do in Pokemon, the Flintstones, or whatever cartoon they eat chicken or something like chicken like that. I almost puked because i bit the cartilage.
Why is this allowed? Why do animals have cartilage?

fucking animal

You're eating an animal that was once alive. Obviously it's going to have tendons and cartilage and all that good stuff. If that grosses you out, go back to tendies.

Obviously? Try telling that to white people, I ordered steamed whole flounder at a canto joint and all the whiteys were making loud gagging noises. It's like mechanically separated "meat" is the only thing they were ever exposed to growing up. They literally think that anything with recognizable anatomical features will make them violently ill.

North Americans are becoming too used to meat that is free of bone, cartilage, and anything reminiscent of the animal it came from. This is true.

However, if we consider countries that are dominated by non-white people, we see that they are violent shitholes with a terrible quality of life.

So it's a choice: be around people who simultaneously eat too much and are far removed from their food source, or be around people who murder, rape, steal, and act like violent animals lacking conscious thought or sentience.

I'm white and you're grossly generalizing. In fact one of the boniest pieces of fish I've ever eaten was in Australia and it's full of white people.

I think it's safe to assume you don't live in America.

On-the-bone barbecue and fried chicken, man. What's up with that?

I am Canadian.

Obviously BBQ and other foods are popular and many people hunt, but urban people rely heavily on boneless skinless chicken breast, ground meats, etc.

As I get older, I find I enjoy the things that used to disgust me.
I intentionally eat cartilage, fat, skin and even some small bones.

>In a 2010 consumer survey, Mintel found that ground beef was the most frequently consumed type of meat, as 39% of respondents used it at least once per week (Red Meat US, Mintel December 2010).

You don't think the average person who goes grocery shopping at Wal-Mart isn't buying ground beef, boneless chicken breast, etc.?

>North Americans are becoming too used to meat that is free of bone, cartilage, and anything reminiscent of the animal it came from.
You don't see this among people who are really into food. You see this among people whose taste has become infantalized, They are a majority in North America, but that doesn't mean their taste is good. You know you're among them when you see squishy white bread, sweet drinks, ranch dressing nd boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
>countries that are dominated by non-white people, we see that they are violent shitholes with a terrible quality of life.
You've obviously never traveled to such places. There are places in Asia where the quality of life is very high. Parts of Latin America and even Africa are lovely, even if other places there are the poster childern for violent shotholes. Your bias is common though. My theory is that northerners had to build a great deal of organization into their cultures so they didn't starve or freeze to death during the brutal winter. Because of this they look down on more freewheeling southern cultures as undisciplined, and therefore dangerous. And while there may be some truth to this in the northern mind it's greatly exaggerated.

Not the ones going out to good restaurants. Really I see this as more of a suburban thing. The people eating prefab heat and eat meals in Levittown are the ones squicked when they're reminded that meat comes from animals.

HUH cartilage. Lake and river fish! So bony people are dying from that as we speak.
Amazing broth and jerky.
