Is avocado really that good?
Ive had it a few times and while not disgusting, it isn't some amazing food that God himself bestowed on us.

I enjoy using it with spicy foods. I make a bacon avocado burger with a chipotle sauce. Cold avocado counters the spicy nicely.

It's ok. It's got a lot of fat so it triggers that reward part of the brain. As for the flavor it's pretty bland.

It's just another fad that needs to go away.

I only ever use Avocado to make Guacamole, I have not found anything else with Avocado in it that I enjoy.

I love avocado as much for the flavor as for the buttery texture on the tongue. It pairs so nicely with a few of my favorite things like lime juice, and sliced turkey, or blue cheese and bacon on a cobb salad. It marriages with seafood, hearts of palm, citrus, and mustard vinaigrette TDF.

That said, there's a grassy greeny flavor without so much buttery texture in all the varietals of avocado that aren't Hass. When they're more watery and herbal like that I actually prefer them in a marinated salad, Dominican style, just some olive oil, lime juice, slivered onions and bell peppers, and chilled together a couple of hours. Nothing so refreshing as a side of that with your rice and beans or your main.

We have an ol' Thompson pepper mill at the 4 corners of the kitchen, and personal mills at each dinner plate. My dad takes great joy in refilling salt and pepper mills, like a damn restaurant. The really tall one comes out of the family china cabinet, if we make Caesar salad. And, there's a matching seat of pepper grinders for the color of metal of the patio furniture for al fresco days.
Did I beat you? It took me about 5 years to explain why I didn't want green and pink peppercorns mixed into all of the pepper mills "for fun." He eventually figured out it was different and not better.

I live in bongland so tacos are less of a commodity since we're lacking in a lot of places that specialise in them.
