Just like you never NEED to ask someone how they want their steak (because it should always be about med-rare), you should NEVER have to ask someone how they want their burger: it is ALWAYS well-done. It doesn't have to be 100% raw to make you sick, you absolute mongoloid.

Ancient Nippon technique, folded 1000 times.

Toast buns, top bun goes on plate.

Sauce first, then "light" toppings, then "heavy" toppings.

Cheese goes on burger still on pan/griddle, and bottom bun is placed on cheese to help it melt.

Slight burger with melted cheese and bottom bun onto toppings and press a little.

Invert.

Now it looks like your cheese is trying to make its way to heaven.

in public and around children I like it medium, with LTO toppings, mustard, salt and pepper, a *bit* of mayo on the bottom, and with a pickle side. at a restaurant I'll order a mushroom swiss but generally won't finish the plate

in private I eat my burger as a 1lb monstrosity of scorched black completely well done and bone dry degreased meat with as much black pepper as I can put on before my wrist gets tired and a few slices of cheese melted on with one piece of pumpernickel bread for a plate.

I personally like my burger traditional style. A good 'ol toasted sesame seed bun with a burger grilled to perfection with a slice of deli cheddar or American. The toppings will depend on how hungry I am, but I'll usually eat the first cheesburg plain.

They do that as a courtesy because too many fucking people have developed a mentality that a patty has to be prepared medium to maximize it's juiciness when it's a simple matter of the meat used, and the fat content. If a restaurant can't make a patty close to well done and keep it juicy, it has no right serving you that burger.

>> No.8429801

I work at a dangelo grilled sandwich shop [recent grad looking for better work] and we have amazing burgers, but I like to cook it under spec cuz I think its better more medium rareish.

Anyways, we have this butter spray, I spray it all on one side of the bun, then mash the other bun, spreading it evenly. I then throw it in the toaster. I then put a decent zigzag of ketchup on the top bun, and mesquite bbq on the bottom bun. I put bacon, grilled to a nice crisp on the bottom bun over the bbq sauce.

Now on to the grill, we use shweid and son butchers blend burgers, highly reccomend! I make sure the burger is cooked evenly. Right before its finished cooking i put the veggies i was grilling on top of the burger, as so the juices go all over the veggies. As for the veggies i use both white and red onions, as well as 5 or 6 bannana pepper rings. I make sure the veggies are cooked just right before placing them on top of the burger. After puttng the veggies on i wait another 30 secs or so before i put the burger ontop of the bottom roll, covered evenly with the crunchy bacon. I then add a small amount of lettuce to the top bun with the ketchup.

I used to get these more often, and im trying to lose weight now so I limit myself to 1 every 2 weeks.
