nippon also has a "metabo law"
where citizens aged 40-75 have their waistline checked annually
and if it is over a certain circumference then the employer/company has to pay a fine, thus is liable
this sort of law is needed in the west.
as the cost of diabetes and heart disease "treatment" (treating symptoms instead of the cause of the disease) alone is going to completely fuck up america, the uk, and many other nations with high obesity rates

I made ramen with from scratch broth a couple months ago, tasted good, needed some improvements like bigger bowl/different type of noodle, but was fun to make.

Any good source for authentic Okonomiyaki? Want to try that next. I know that has certain flour to use, but can't tell it apart from others at asian supermarkets.

I frigging love Yakitori, any chance of a good recipe OP? I always get the sauce wrong...

>> No.8392569

>>8392548

I'm not OP, but the sauce is very simple, just don't take shortcuts on the ingredients:

1/3 Japanese soy sauce
1/3 Mirin (try and get the real thing, not the artificial version that most markets sell.
1/3 Sake

Simmer those down until the sauce gets thick. I like to add some crushed garlic, sliced fresh ginger, and dried red chili to mine while it's simmering. Then strain that out before using it.

The cooking method is also key. You need to grill the meat (or use a broiler) so that the sauce caramelizes onto the chicken. Baking or cooking in a pan is a no-go since it won't properly caramelize the sauce.
