Got two pounds of this stuff, what should I do with it?

What on earth does "London broil" mean?

It's just a cut of round that's meant to be marinated and cut against the grain once it's been grilled.

But I'm from London and I've literally never heard of it.

I've found that usually with American food, if a dish has a countries name in front of it, it probably has absolutely nothing to do with that country.

Make a paste of olive oil, garlic, rosemary and salt. Cover the entire roast with said paste and wrap with plastic. Leave in fridge for ten-twelve hours. Allow roast to temper for an hour and broil until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. Slice thin and enjoy while listening to your favorite GG Allin album.
Maybe roast some potatoes or some shit too.
Oh, and remove the plastic before you cook the roast, in case that wasn't obvious.

London broil is a North American beef dish made by broiling or grilling marinated beef, then cutting it across the grain into thin strips. The origin of the name is obscure; the dish is not related to the city of London, England. Wikipedia

For raw beef, it's a marketing name that's stuck.

I think they figured "round steak" doesn't sell as well as "London Broil."

When I buy any I just eat it as regular steak.

Sounds good. I made the sauce, but I used garlic powder instead of garlic and I added pepper.

I only have 6 hours, so could I marinade it for 5 hours and temper it for 1?

>> No.8212496

>>8212419
5 hours should be fine. Also I've only ever used fresh garlic and rosemary, but I'm interested to know how it turns out.
Best of luck, anon!

Oh and olive oil smokes around 375 degrees, so maybe just roast it at 350. Or live dangerously, it is your life after all.
