I'm gonna rephrase this. What are your experiences as a barista? What things have customers done that irritated you?

Got way sick of it after a while so now i'm just a bartender instead.

People are usually less pretentious about alcohol unless you're working at an upscale bar. People are ALWAYS pretentious about their shitty coffee.

i work in a restaurant with an espresso machine, which isn't really the same, but i do have to make the drinks myself. it only sucks when a party of 22 orders like 19 different types of drinks (macchiato, macchiato with soy, latte with 4 shots, blah blah blah) and it starts a chain reaction of everyone realizing we have an espresso machine and ordering shit and then wondering why their coffee takes forever after all 150 of them ordered at the same time.

we only have coffee cups and shot cups (it's a mexican food place, the focus isn't on coffee) and everyone gets a double shot. i didn't get any training at first either because the machine was broken, so when it finally got fixed no matter what anyone asked for they got a latte with burnt milk.

Cappuccino, americano, flat white and double espresso are all 2
