Santiagos Mexican food. Many locations, go for the breakfast burritos and green Chile.

Rocky mountain oysters are good too, I like the Buckhorn Exchange for them but it's a little pricey.

Root down, is one of the best reset aunts in denver. All the meat come fro. A colorado farm, and the the veggies for thier specials are grown on-site

My friend lives in an apartment right near 17th Street and has had to step over used needles and vomit in his lobby (the apartments are above a couple of businesses). He said it just wasn't that way a couple of years ago.

You'd think with weed less people would use heroin, but it's a nationwide issue.

The homeless shelters have the slight oxymoron of requiring complete sobriety. I understand no drug use at the facility, but how are you gonna define sober? Denver Cares is a step in the right direction (I've done a volunteer rotation there a couple of nights), but it is still too intertwined with the police department profits. And tend to only target those they know have pocketbooks (drunk drivers driving decent cars or out of state vehicles) rather than the actual issues.

Definitely some of the worst food I've ever had, from anywhere.

Denver has sub par quality all around with prices that mimic a larger city and none of the amenities.

I have been to every single 'fine dining' restaurant. The thing they all share are low quality ingredients and sub par service.

I'm never expecting something Michelin starred here but simple things like not overcooking pasta or using fresh ingredients are absent here. People from the midwest flock to the area and think it's some sort of Mecca of civilization but if you've ever had the chance to dine in a nice place in a major city, Denver will pale in comparison.

Expect Olive Garden tier food and less wherever you go here. One exception, Mizzuna. Fairly decent all around. Be prepared to pay a premimum however.

The thing about Colorado that you guys need to know is that its the state where people move to when they don't know where else to move to. Its plan B for inexperienced young people who are gonna settle down or buy a house or whatever for the first time. That's why there's no fucking culture or anything remotely interesting outside of like Boulder (if you can tolerate sky high prices and endless hordes of craft beer drinking hipsters)

The only two consistent upsides of CO are the legal weed and the fact that the atmosphere acts as a very potent pleb filter.
